If you want to get more out of this messaging platform, Nitro is a good option. That said, many people feel that animated avatars, custom emojis, unlimited file uploads, and custom tags are just not worth the $10 a month.
If you’re a paying customer who wants to quit your Discord subscription, or if you’ve claimed a Discord Nitro trial and want to opt-out, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will tell you how to cancel your Discord Nitro subscription. The same steps are valid for both Nitro and Nitro Basic subscription plans.
How to Cancel Discord Nitro on Desktop/Website
- Open the Discord app and make sure you’re logged in with the right profile.
- Go to the Settings gear icon, in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Select the Subscriptions tab from the left panel of the user settings page.
- The main window will display a Discord Nitro banner. Select the Cancel option next to the Switch Plans button.
- A new window will detail all the Nitro perks you’ll lose if you cancel the subscription, such as stickers, screen share, HD video calls, and many more. Scroll through this window until you hit the bottom and find the Continue button.
- A new window will pop up, you can now finalize your Nitro cancelation by selecting the Confirm button.
Canceling Discord Nitro on Android and iOS Devices
Discord used to allow you to cancel subscriptions from mobile devices, but that’s no longer the case. In order to manage subscription plans, you have to use a desktop or web app. It’s unknown if and when the cancelation feature will return to mobile apps. At the moment, the phone app displays a message that tells you to go to User Settings on your Desktop app in order to manage the subscription.
You can cancel your Discord subscription at any time, but you’ll keep the Nitro perks until the end of the billing cycle.
